That’s where West Virginia’s Correctional Officers rank in starting pay among the rest of the states, according to a report released by the West Virginia Legislative Auditor’s office.

The conclusion? West Virginia offers lower salaries and has higher turnover rates for correctional officers than any of the states with similar economic conditions, surrounding states and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
